Website Promotion & Ranking Services (WPRS) was founded in 1998 by Rajesh Tavakari, a marketer, web designer and SEO entrepreneur. It was one of the very first website promotion companies to be established in Bangalore, India.

What began in a tiny room in the city of Bangalore grew to become an international SEO firm employing 18 people at its two headquarters and serving clients all over the world.

Rajesh belongs to an exceptional league of self-made entrepreneurs who have honed their professional insights through entrepreneurship skills, thereby establishing successful careers in SEO marketing.

Rajesh started his career as a professional website designer in the late 1990s, when he not only focused on how to develop fundamental web presences, but also realized that the real challenge of a website is to ensure that its intended users are aware of and access the website. This brought him to the avenues of SEO, and he started to explore the wealth of SEO possibilities, building on his SEO acumen.

He studied on his own to learn about website promotion, embarking on implementation work with great success. He joined well-known blogs, forums, and groups like Search Engine Watch and Webmaster Forums to discuss and enhance his knowledge related to website promotion and improving search engine rankings.

In 1998, when SEO marketing was still at its nascent stage, he formed Website Promotion and Ranking Services (WPRS), along with his schoolmate Rajiv. Soon he was able to outmaneuver the competition and delve deeply into the US SEO market, building 93% of his client base from US customers.

Rajesh in-depth domain knowledge and sector expertise made him one of the most respected SEO specialists in India. He published a wide range of promotion and marketing articles in webpronews, Promotionworld, Lilengine, WebReference, Idea Marketers, ISEDB, and other leading SEO forums.

Rajesh holds a Bachelor of Commerce, specializing in marketing, from Karnataka University, India. He earned his Master’s of Computer Applications from Karnataka, India. When not working, he enjoys table tennis, photography, and fishing. He loves pets and has a dedicated dog site at www.indiakennels.com. Rajiv Nampoothiri
Co-Founder

Rajiv started his career as a programmer, subsequently joining Rajesh in 1999 to begin his career as an SEO consultant. Since then, he has become professionally involved with internet marketing and SEO/SEM, being an integral part of WPRS and responsible for many successful SEO campaigns.

He holds a Master’s in Computer Application (MCA), having honed his expertise and knowledge in XHTML/CSS/PHP programming, database management, and internet research. He initially learned basic SEO techniques from Rajesh and later dedicated himself to learning more about SEO and the latest trends by scouring the internet and actively participating in various forums.

Today he independently handles clients. He is responsible for distributing work and is personally involved in search engine optimization, site audits, web analysis, and usability testing, thereby helping clients attain a competitive advantage.

In addition to SEO, he likes spending time with his family and playing table tennis. He is also an avid reader.

Raghavendra Kulkarni (Raghu)
Director

Raghavendra (known as Raghu) is a self-learned SEO specialist. Raghu started his career in SEO under the aegis of Rajesh, who invited him to join WPRS so that the schoolmates could translate their deep understanding of each other’s business approaches to create greater comfort and better results for their clients.

Raghu currently manages a number of successful SEO campaigns. His responsibilities include explaining the importance of SEO to clients, delegating work, and implementing SEO techniques involved with the team’s efforts to research, analyze, monitor, and promote websites. He is also responsible for providing extensive training to our in-house staff as well as other business associates.

For the past few years, he has focused on researching advanced SEO techniques and the role of social media, online press releases, and link acquisition, significantly influencing the organic results.

Apart from SEO, he enjoys reading spiritual books and often meditates and practices yoga.
